I met Shannon last winter for our first consultation and our connection was instant. I was thrilled to be working with this bright, lovely, creative woman with energy that comes near to rivaling my own. I looked forward to the wedding day and loved the regular updates on her wedding planning. She couldn't wait to tell me about the stunning Vera Wang wedding dress of her dreams...(a photo of which she carried for nearly 2 years) and it was great luck that the dress was still available at Vera Wang Toronto. And being a huge Vera fan..I couldn't wait to hear more. It was as dreamy as she described with beautiful layers of sheer Vera goodness.
Shannon had a million amazing ideas to create this very special day that was as much about their guests as the two of them. A vintage photo booth, name tags, lovely custom illustrated invitations, programs and menus, are just a few of the many details that went into creating this chic modern vintage styled day.
We had an epic engagement session. Anyone who has worked with me knows that I LOVE my engagement sessions and this one was nothing short of a blast. With New York inspiration, we had the amazing time shooting around Ottawa. During this session, I had the oppourtunity to meet Jon, who simply adores Shannon. The chemistry between the two of them is truly magical...like watching two people dance through life together.
Throughout the planning time, the ideas were getting bigger and more beautiful and with the assistance of some wonderful wedding vendors like Miranda Forbes, our rock for the day and expert wedding planner at the Courtyard restaurant in the Byaward Market, Mood Moss Flower Design, The Candy Store, Buttercream Bakery and the Candy Store in Westboro, the vision for the big day came together beautifully. Hair by the amazing Lori Dyck and make-up by the lovely Sarah Walsh . Here are just a few of my favorites and some sweet details from the wedding day...
