Couvrette image with an "m" retouch] Ottawa Engagement Photographer

Couvrette studios in Ottawa recently had a posting on photoshop artistry and put out a challenge to take his original image and convert to black and white...I couldn't help myself. Here is the original image:


And here is my rendition of a warm black and white conversion. I liked the idea of a warm toned BW because the woman in this shot had a lovely warm tone to her skin in the original. Thanks Paul, that was fun!
There really is an art to using photoshop well. And it comes through hours of experience to get an eye for what will make an image exceptional. And it cannot be overstated that...you have to get the image right in the camera first...that always helps.
