Boudoir sessions can be a huge boost to a woman's confidence. It is one of the most rewarding things for me as a photographer to see the moment a woman totally trusts me to see her as more beautiful than she can imagine herself, and for her to see herself as truly beautiful in her images...it's awesome.
Many of my clients want to create boudoir images for someone special, but in other cases they purely want these images for themselves.Thank you to my wonderful client for letting me share some of her intimate images with you.

{Finding Authenticity} Ottawa Wedding Photographers

It is the heat of wedding season. I will shoot up to two weddings nearly every weekend of the summer.  After shooting so many weddings...you would think it might become routine. But,  every mother of the bride, wacky bridesmaid, uncle bob and the family odd ducks at each wedding provide a new adventure with new personalities and new moments.

I have the privilege of capturing not only wedding days, but a first pregnancy, the arrival of a newborn...these are amazing milestones in our lives that are inherently beautiful.  Part of what I want to do as a photographer is to connect with the authentic beauty within the relationships that are apparent in these milestone moments you have commissioned me to capture. It is easy to forget that in the height of a wedding day, but it is what I always come back to.  I love to watch a couple fall naturally into place and take their space on their terms in postures that reflect how they cosy up on the couch together. It's easier to place you in a dramatic pose and make you look like a page from a magazine, but the challenge is truly to capture something authentic between you and I hold myself to that challenge in each shoot. Making beautiful images that reflect stereotypes is easy...authenticity is not.

While anyone that knows me knows I have a thing for fast prime lenses and fine cameras...I find, without that genuine connection between my clients and myself- the connection that feels like an old friend has arrived on your day- the images will only be as good as that connection. To me, the finest photographers are those that put people at ease. They allow people to be themselves, to be vulnerable and then feel comfortable in their own skin when they can see how wonderful they are just as they are and not so much as they would like to look like. It's a fascinating thing. And as I go forward this summer, fall and winter, and capture these precious milestone moments, I will have this at the forefront and will have my eyes and my heart tuned into capturing what is genuine, authentic and inherently beautiful....

Indiana Wedding Photographer {Seth & Lindsay}

I will be forever thankful to Seth & Lindsay for having the confidence & belief in my ability as a photographer, to be my first wedding photo shoot.  Also, many many thanks to my fellow photographer & friend Jodi of Little Gifts from God Photography, for being my second camera for this wedding! 

With a very wet spring, we were thankful for no rain on this Saturday morning, but it kept us out of the grass with her dress.  We had hoped to visit the Sunken Gardens for photos, but there were ducks swimming in the grass that weekend, so Lindsay decided we would stay at this beautiful church for the photos.

Summer Lovin Kids {sneak peek}

I loved getting out with my camera again today!  It’s been a long time since my last shoot (still editing the wedding photos, look for a big bunch of those soon here, and finally graduation is over, and vbs is over, so we are back in business!!

These kids are adorable!!

{Destination Wedding in the Czech Republic} Ottawa Wedding Photographers

I had the wonderful oppourtunity to shoot a destination wedding in Mariansze Lazne just outside of Prague, Czech Republic with an amazing couple Jiri and Katie. Having traveled all over the world, Katie and Jiri were thrilled to organize their wedding back in the Czech Republic where he was born. They have been together for 9 years since high school and their love for each other is amazing. They were married at Becov Castle and followed with a reception at the gorgeous Esplanade Hotel. Due to my own wanderlust and love of adventure, I was thrilled to accompany them on their day and to capture this truly magical wedding surrounded by their closest family and friends. While just about everything at this wedding was five-stars... this couple was nothing but down to earth and the bride even did the "worm" on the dance floor to open up the dancing for the evening...it was so much fun...I truly hope you enjoy these images as much as I did in capturing them. I wish them an amazing honeymoon as they start their adventure together traveling to other amazing destinations nearby in Italy, France, Austria and Germany. I can't apologise for the length of this post. There were so many more I could have added...

At the end of the night...a kiss from the bride and groom for me...a job well done!
