M and C - Mother-Daughter Portrait session] Ottawa Portrait photographer

Portrait

Every once in a while a shoot comes along that captures your heart. From the moment I met M, I knew this was going to be a special shoot. C raised M on her own and it seemed appropriate in a way to be shooting on Father's day. M. saved up money from her PT job at the university library to have a fun shoot with her mom...and quote, " I just want my mom to feel beautiful". A girl after my own heart...here are some of their images.

L and B - Married At Mill of Kintail] Ottawa Wedding Photographer

L and B were married at the stunning Mill of Kintail for an amazing outdoor ceremony and reception. B is a musician and so the choice of a nudie suit was appealing and fun. These two couldn't have been more easy going and fun to be around and so were the guests. Congratulations! Here are some of my favorite images from the day...stay tuned there are many, so I will continue to add images as I edit them...

Priscilla Presley and Nudie Suits!] Ottawa wedding photographer

Hard to believe and I truly don't endorse it, but I had THE most unusual request earlier this week- to shoot a wedding this weekend! There's spontaneous for you! Seriously. Now it just so happened that I was available and so a very colourful couple, their 175 guests and myself will create some really wild images...

Why the heads up? This is no ordinary couple. He is a musician and they will be married at the Mill of Kintail in Almonte, Ontario in a beautiful outdoor ceremony in an old stone chapel- it's so romantic...and yet...quirky... Her dress has been beaded with amber beads from Estonia (as she is Estonian) and will be going for a rockabilly Priscilla Prestley look and the groom and groomsmen all have custom nudie suits. Yeah, it's OK, I didn't know what one was before either and I almost had to say...I draw the line at naked weddings!

So take this as a heads up for some super funky pics to come...I've been given full creative license and a couple who are extraordinary and up for anything.

My First YOU TUBE Video ever] Ottawa Trash the Dress Photographer

I so enjoyed shooting the Trash the Dress session last Thursday with my 5D2 that I thought I would take a stab at editing some video and firing it up to You Tube. So without further delay, you can see some of the action and the stills all in one right here. I can foresee great improvements ahead...but for now, enjoy my first video ever...in HD. Stay tuned for future shoot videos to come...maybe your engagement or trash session?

T and N are engaged...Little G couldn't be happier!] Ottawa Engagement Photographer

I had an amazing meeting with T, N and their little sweet G. This lovely little family has the perfect mixture of tradition, imagination, family reunion and love to create an amazing wedding -not to mention, a September wedding always beautiful images make! But that's not all. The cherry on top...men in kilts! You know this will be a blast. I can't say enough about little G's mirror-like eyes...they speak for themselves. Congratulations to T&N on their engagement.

Trash the Dress] Ottawa Trash the Dress photographer

We had an amazing shoot with two local women here in Ottawa who wanted to have an adventure, get dirty and look amazing doing it. I was joined by by friend and photographer Jen Lucas from Photojenic in Trenton, who drove over two and a half hours in to do this shoot and we had a blast! If you are considering a "Trash the Dress" adventure with myself or Jen, please contact us for more information. Interested in doing it with a friend or two...even better. Thank you to S and A for their sense of adventure, willingness to try anything including bathe in bug spray!

E and D - Married!] Ottawa Wedding Photographer

A very intimate wedding held at the Schoolhouse on Saturday evening. When they hired me they told me how much they disliked being photographed, which is funny, because they wanted to hire me to photograph their whole event. So my challenge was to blend in, hide and become inconspicuous while photographing the story of their wedding. The other challenge was that we had 30 to photograph the bride and groom alone and do their group shots too- mission well accomplished. Here are some favorites to tell the story:

And with a goodbye to dad, it was over ....
